Dr. Luukkonen is a 2024 graduate from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Luukkonen is originally from south eastern Michigan, where she found her love for horses as soon as she could convince her parents to sign her up for riding lessons at age 10. Always wanting to travel west, she did several externships in the western states during her clinical year, which brought her to MPEH.

Dr. Luukkonen's favorite topic in equine medicine is reproduction. She is also very passionate about preventative medicine, general practice, dentistry, and increasing comfort in geriatric patients.

Outside of work, Dr. Luukkonen enjoys riding, trail running, hiking, reading, and drawing/painting. She loves to spend time with her husband and their English Shepherd, Tucker.
