Practice Manager
Justin Barton
Justin Barton brings over 17 years of healthcare leadership experience to McKinlay & Peters Equine Hospital, with a strong background in practice management, operations, and team development. Prior to joining the veterinary field, Justin built his career in human healthcare, where he served in a pediatric practice focused on children with developmental disabilities and delays. Starting as Director of Business and Finance, he advanced to the role of Chief Executive Officer, leading with a focus on service excellence, operational efficiency, and compassionate care.
Originally from Mesa, Arizona, Justin has called the Spokane area home for the past 11 years. He is passionate about creating environments where both teams and clients feel valued, supported, and inspired.
At the core of Justin’s leadership is a deeply held purpose: to help people recognize their own worth. He brings this philosophy into his work each day through meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions, and a genuine interest in helping others grow—personally and professionally. His faith and relationship with God are also central to his life, shaping his perspective and reinforcing his commitment to serve others with humility, compassion, and integrity.
Justin is a natural connector who enjoys getting to know what motivates people and how they think. This curiosity has also led him to host several podcasts, where he explores a wide range of topics and perspectives through engaging conversations.
Justin’s connection to the equine world is also personal. He is the grandson of a rodeo champion who spent his life on horseback, passing down a deep appreciation for the dedication and passion that define the equestrian lifestyle. That legacy continues today through his youngest daughter, who shares a strong love for horses and carries forward that same spirit.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending time with his family—his wife of nearly 30 years, Heather, their four children, growing group of grandchildren, and their dog, Augie.
